Hello! I'm Robin, a quantitative social scientist.

I design research, collect mixed mode data, and present streamlined and clear results for a wide audience.

Research Design Expertise

  • Evaluated various research methods and implemented a mixed method design for each phase of the research process (user testing, quantitative data collection and follow-up interviews).

  • Designed a survey questionnaire to measure patterns of drug use and social relationship among a sample of people who use drugs.

  • Worked in interdisciplinary collaboration to develop, beta test and revise the user interface to collect GPS and text message responses.

  • Eight years conducting high-impact social science research.

  • Authored 20 research papers; responsible for conceptualization, synthesis of literature, analysis of survey data, and description of findings.

Mentorship and Outreach Experience

  • Mentored a team of researchers; held weekly meetings to organize research, monitor progress, edit work, and provide encouragement.

  • Eight years mentoring student researchers to generate hypotheses and develop plans for high-impact research.

  • Presented research results at seminars, national meetings, to the popular press and substantive experts in the wider community.

  • Taught advanced graduate level statistics on social network analysis to non-technical audience.
