Presentations
I am a relational sociologist with both methodological and empirical interests. My research develops and employs methodological advances in social network analysis to understand the complex dynamics of interpersonal relationships. The new measures and models incorporate an understanding of relationships as composed of a complex history of interactions between actors, each bringing with them their own self-concepts and identities. These interactions are ordered in time, and embedded within social settings (schools, families, communities) that have their own normative and structural features. My research follows several substantive lines which are represented in the selected presentations on this page. These presentations have been shared at a variety of national conferences including annual meetings of the American Sociological Association, the Population Association of America, Sunbelt and the American Anthropological Association.
